Needle felted dogs - rounding them up!

Just been asked about needle felting - it's great fun- stressful though when you are trying to get an exact likeness - the eyes are the key!

Goldfinch on dandelion.

I spend some time trying to take a decent photograph and turn round and find Tom's produced this lovely page in his sketchbook - waiting for the lino cut now! Search for Tom Garner's Art on Facebook.

Lily of the Valley card.

I know that last time I posted a step by step piece of art work it proved popular, so I thought I'd do it again.

Caldbeck to Hesket Newmarket along the river

There really isn't a better walk at this time of year!
Wild garlic; bluebells and stitchwort: the ancient woodland indicator - herb paris; bluebell;

Lovely to see all these out today.

Upper Teesdale pilgrimage

A gloriously sunny day in Teesdale. Walked the usual walk from Hanging Shaw car park; past Widdybank Farm; along Facon Clints and then back down the Cow Green road.

Bedruthan Steps. Cornwall.

This afternoon's painting - a special place - as Grandma and Grandpa used to paint here - must scan a photo to blog, both of them and their paintings.

Mawbray Banks

The year is running away with us again. I'm sure May passes at twice the speed of any other month - so much to see and so much to do! So a quick painting of Mawbray Banks - not species specific - but it's only a few weeks until the bloody crane's-bill is out and then the tufted vetch.

Felt tea-lights!

A brief moment to make some felt, in a very busy day, for a friend that is making stained glass
tea-lights. Looking forward to seeing the results!

Very proud that Tom reached the final 35 of the C Art competition against A level and college students. Have a look at http://www.c-art.org.uk/artists/thomas-garner/gallery to see more.

Maryport sunsets.

Following the spectacular sunsets at Maryport earlier this month, I risked a painting or two - personally I really don't like sunset paintings as they are often too garish - so not an easy task, but it had to be tried!

Tom Garner - artist.

A great GCSE exhibition at the Nelson Thomlinson School in Wigton - enjoyed seeing Tom's pieces altogether. Well Done!

Grune Point, Skinburness

A lovely walk around Grune Point this morning; slylarks by the dozen, thrift in flower and sunshine - still a fresh breeze though.

A good hurtle in the morning sun.
Nice to see ringed plover nests beginning to be scraped out.

Sunday 3 May 2015

Tree sparrows

Nice to see a pair of tree sparrows collecting dog hair, from where I'd shaken out a mat, on our front.
